For more than a decade, Ali Emmerson has taught and advocated for hundreds of students and families both in the classroom and in one-on-one coaching sessions.  Ali has led teachers in professional development trainings, and offered her expertise as both a curriculum designer and consultant. She has managed and directed Learning Support programs and departments, and has piloted new programs at schools.

Ali is a natural advocate who listens to understand and who approaches her work with authenticity and integrity.  Ali deeply appreciates that every student's learning style is as unique as a finger print. She aims to lead students in identifying how they best learn so that they may develop an empowered sense of curiosity and a love of learning. Emphasizing a holistic practice, Ali humanizes her teaching by removing the traditional hierarchical relationship between student and teacher to help students feel seen and validated in their experiences.  She combines her expertise with her interpersonal skills to foster a nurturing learning environment for students.

Ali has a Bachelor's Degree in Education and French Studies as well as a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics with a concentration in English as a Second Language. She is a certified Academic Coach and Academic Tutor through the Academic Tutoring Association. She has received training in Wilson Reading, Structured Word Inquiry, and Orton-Gillingham and she is in the process of completing her licensure to become a Dyslexia Specialist.  For a complete summary of Ali's professional experience, please click here.
